About Me
My name is Jake Long. I’m writing this blog as a way of working through my thoughts and theories in public, mostly because they tend to pile up faster than I can keep straight in my head otherwise.
I live in Pennsylvania. I don’t have much in the way of formal education, but I read whenever life gives me the time to do it properly. I gravitate toward writers who weren’t afraid to wrestle with uncomfortable ideas. Heinlein, Asimov, Dostoevsky, and Hemingway have all left their marks on me in different ways. Michael Valentine Smith and Jubal Harshaw in particular.
My interests aren’t especially narrow. I tend to chase questions wherever they lead, which has landed me in ancient Near Eastern civilizations, theology, physics, logic, mathematics, and philosophy, often all at once. Philosophy is the common thread, but it’s rarely where things stay.
Since December 2nd, 2025, I’ve been working on a framework I call MOPET. At this point I have enough together to release a core paper, and I’m continuing to build out several extension theories alongside it. Those currently orbit Christian theology, fundamental physics, consciousness, and what any of this might mean at the level of an individual life.
This site is where that work lives as it’s happening, not just after it’s been cleaned up.
